On Noreela's eastern coast is a wild area known as the Poison Forests. Everything here is inimical to humans: the trees, the grass, the leaves, the flowers, the insects, the snakes, the birds and rodents, the fish and frogs, the very air itself can be filled with poisons … and yet it has more species of animals and plants than everywhere else in Noreela combined.
